Jewel of a Norman church under reed thatch roof in peaceful rural setting. Enter the tiny doorway to see Britain’s largest and most complete medieval altarpiece featuring a row of saints resplendent with gilded and chequered panels. Beautifully restored wall paintings can be seen at the west end. The great 20th century architect Basil Spence is buried in the churchyard.
